Pharmacological properties of new 11H-indeno[1,2-b]-quinolin-11-one derivatives. 1982

E Chojnacka-Wójcik, and A Naparzewska

Pharmacological properties of 7 new 11H-indeno [1,2-b]quinolin-11-ones (1-7) were investigated in mice and rats. For comparison indomethacin (IND) and phenylbutazone (PHB), were studied. Compounds 1 and 3-7 produced sedative action. Compound 2 had a stimulatory effect. IND and PHB did not affect the central nervous system. All tested compounds showed analgesic properties, similar to those of IND and more pronounced than those of PHB. Compounds 1, 2, 3, 4 had anti-inflammatory action. The most active of them 10-methyl-amine derivative (compound 2) was more effective than IND and PHB.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007192 Indenes A family of fused-ring hydrocarbons isolated from coal tar that act as intermediates in various chemical reactions and are used in the production of coumarone-indene resins.
D007213 Indomethacin A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID) that inhibits CYCLOOXYGENASE, which is necessary for the formation of PROSTAGLANDINS and other AUTACOIDS. It also inhibits the motility of POLYMORPHONUCLEAR LEUKOCYTES. Amuno,Indocid,Indocin,Indomet 140,Indometacin,Indomethacin Hydrochloride,Metindol,Osmosin

D002375 Catalepsy A condition characterized by inactivity, decreased responsiveness to stimuli, and a tendency to maintain an immobile posture. The limbs tend to remain in whatever position they are placed (waxy flexibility). Catalepsy may be associated with PSYCHOTIC DISORDERS (e.g., SCHIZOPHRENIA, CATATONIC), nervous system drug toxicity, and other conditions. D003913 Dextroamphetamine The d-form of AMPHETAMINE. It is a central nervous system stimulant and a sympathomimetic. It has also been used in the treatment of narcolepsy and of attention deficit disorders and hyperactivity in children. Dextroamphetamine has multiple mechanisms of action including blocking uptake of adrenergics and dopamine, stimulating release of monamines, and inhibiting monoamine oxidase. It is also a drug of abuse and a psychotomimetic. d-Amphetamine,Curban,Dexamfetamine,Dexamphetamine,Dexedrine,Dextro-Amphetamine Sulfate,DextroStat,Dextroamphetamine Sulfate,Oxydess,d-Amphetamine Sulfate,dextro-Amphetamine,Dextro Amphetamine Sulfate,Sulfate, Dextroamphetamine,d Amphetamine,d Amphetamine Sulfate, dextro Amphetamine
