Correction of anterior cross-bite using segmental osteotomies and a fixed splint. 1980

A C Post, and B Balaban, and H A Ackerson, and R D Vaught

A brief review of methods used in treating anterior crossbites has been outlined. Another approach was also presented using interdental segmental osteotomies to mobilize individual teeth and fixed splints to stabilize the realigned segments. The advantage of this treatment is the expedience with which final results can be obtained and the relative ease in accomplishing the surgical and prosthodontic procedures.
