[A case of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Electroencephalographic and immunobiological aspects]. 1982

A case of Creutzfeld Jakob disease is described from an E.E.G. and immunological point of view. The E.E.G. data at various stages of the disease are described and the presence of intrathecally produced IgG antibodies is pointed out.

A familial form exhibiting autosomal dominant inheritance and a new variant CJD (potentially associated with ENCEPHALOPATHY, BOVINE SPONGIFORM) have been described. Pathological features include prominent cerebellar and cerebral cortical spongiform degeneration and the presence of PRIONS.
