According to the classification by Swineford, many cases of the atopic type show allergic conditions among family members and, besides asthma, patients often have a past history of allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, and urticaria. Many cases of vermal catarrh are assumed to be included in this atopic type in this study.
