Production of gastric and duodenal ulceration in the guinea pig using a long-acting form of histamine. 1982

I Szelenyi, and H Engler, and H Vergin

A simple method to produce gastric and duodenal ulcers in guinea pigs has been described. By using dialysis sacks containing histamine, introduced into the peritoneal cavity, rapid development of ulceration could be observed in both stomach and duodenum. The ulcers were correlated with high and prolonged blood levels of histamine.
