Ruptured aneurysm of the internal iliac artery. 1982

L Samuelsson, and U Albrechtsson

Isolated aneurysms of the iliac arteries are rare and can be difficult to diagnose. The diagnosis is frequently delayed. One patient with a ruptured aneurysm of the left internal iliac artery is presented, and the computed tomography findings are compared to those of a case of a ruptured aortic aneurysm. The hemorrhages had much in common, and we want to stress the importance of including the iliac arteries when no cause of a retroperitoneal hemorrhage is found higher up.
