Iohexol compared to urografin meglumine in cerebral angiography. A randomized, double blind cross-over study. 1982

P Ahlgren

In a double blind cross-over study the non ionic, water soluble contrast medium iohexol has been compared to Urografin Meglumine by angiography in common carotid artery and vertebral artery. More subjective adverse effects were generally seen with Urografin than with iohexol and statistically there were significantly less changes in heart rate after iohexol but no significant changes in the intra-arterial recorded blood pressure.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007463 Iodobenzoates Benzoic acid esters or salts substituted with one or more iodine atoms. Iodobenzoic Acids,Acids, Iodobenzoic
D007472 Iohexol An effective non-ionic, water-soluble contrast agent which is used in myelography, arthrography, nephroangiography, arteriography, and other radiographic procedures. Its low systemic toxicity is the combined result of low chemotoxicity and low osmolality. Compound 545,Exypaque,Iohexol 350,Nycodenz,Omnipaque

D008875 Middle Aged An adult aged 45 - 64 years. Middle Age
D011897 Random Allocation A process involving chance used in therapeutic trials or other research endeavor for allocating experimental subjects, human or animal, between treatment and control groups, or among treatment groups. It may also apply to experiments on inanimate objects. Randomization,Allocation, Random

D001921 Brain The part of CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM that is contained within the skull (CRANIUM). Arising from the NEURAL TUBE, the embryonic brain is comprised of three major parts including PROSENCEPHALON (the forebrain); MESENCEPHALON (the midbrain); and RHOMBENCEPHALON (the hindbrain). The developed brain consists of CEREBRUM; CEREBELLUM; and other structures in the BRAIN STEM. Encephalon
