[Electrophysiological action of disopyramide]. 1982

A A Grosu, and V I Malakhov, and A S Smetnev

The paper presents data on an electrophysiologic action of disopiramid injected intravenously in a dose of 2 mg/kg on the function of the atrioventricular conduction system in 11 patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardias. Disopiramid reduced the length of the spontaneous cardiac cycle and slightly affected the corrected sinus node recovery time and sinoatrial conduction time. The drug prolonged the intraatrial conduction time, increased the refractoriness of the His-Purkinje system and accessory conduction pathways. It produced no significant action on the refractory period and the function of the A-V node.

D011725 Pyridines Compounds with a six membered aromatic ring containing NITROGEN. The saturated version is PIPERIDINES.
D004206 Disopyramide A class I anti-arrhythmic agent (one that interferes directly with the depolarization of the cardiac membrane and thus serves as a membrane-stabilizing agent) with a depressant action on the heart similar to that of guanidine. It also possesses some anticholinergic and local anesthetic properties. D004562 Electrocardiography Recording of the moment-to-moment electromotive forces of the HEART as projected onto various sites on the body's surface, delineated as a scalar function of time. The recording is monitored by a tracing on slow moving chart paper or by observing it on a cardioscope, which is a CATHODE RAY TUBE DISPLAY. 12-Lead ECG,12-Lead EKG,12-Lead Electrocardiography,Cardiography,ECG,EKG,Electrocardiogram,Electrocardiograph,12 Lead ECG,12 Lead EKG,12 Lead Electrocardiography,12-Lead ECGs,12-Lead EKGs,12-Lead Electrocardiographies,Cardiographies,ECG, 12-Lead,EKG, 12-Lead,Electrocardiograms,Electrocardiographies, 12-Lead,Electrocardiographs,Electrocardiography, 12-Lead
