In the treatment of male pattern baldness, the use of square scalp grafts permits one to obtain the same number of larger grafts from a much smaller donor area--with immediate primary closure leaving only one linear scar. Suitable instruments for marking and cutting the square scalp grafts have been a problem, but a new square marker and a square knife (with disposable blades, in either the 5 mm or 3.5 mm size) have been designed and are available.
