[Suprapubic urine drainage--experiment with a disposable catheter (author's transl)]. 1978

H P Khassalian

In 100 urologic cases, disposable suprapubic catheters were used instead of transurethral catheters. We report on bacteriuria, the time of catheter drainage, possible infections of the urinary tract and spermiducts, as well as on residual urine. Drainage of the bladder being the only purpose of a catheter, we nowadays prefer suprapubic drainage.
