[Sympathectomy and bone circulation (animal experiments) (author's transl)]. 1981

W Köcher, and I Kiefler

Lumbar sympathectomy doubles the blood flow of the tibia. This positive effect does not correlate with fracture healing: fracture hyperaemia will last longer, formation of new bone and bone resorption will be more intensive and is combined with trophic alterations. These symptoms characterize the clinical picture.
