A comparison of double contrast barium meal and endoscopy. 1980

M Wiljasalo, and K Tallroth, and O Korhola, and T Ihamäki

The diagnostic value of double contrast barium meal and endoscopy was assessed in a material of 100 patients with upper abdominal symptoms. Although endoscopy turned out to be more sensitive in revealing pathologic conditions of the stomach, barium meal is by no means obsolete, provided that due attention is paid to the examination technique.
