[Ultrastructure of rat proximal renal tubular epithelium during substrate stimulation of cardiotrast secretion]. 1980

B Ia Varshavskiĭ, and L N Vinnichenko

An electron microscope study was made of the epithelium of rat kidney proximal tubule, following a 3 day (three times a day) injection of cardiotrast in dose of 500 mg/kg, aimed to detect some morphological equivalents of the substrate stimulation of kidney tubular secretion of organic substances. Changes have been revealed in the ultrastructure of endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomal apparatus, and microbodies.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007687 Kidney Tubules, Proximal The renal tubule portion that extends from the BOWMAN CAPSULE in the KIDNEY CORTEX into the KIDNEY MEDULLA. The proximal tubule consists of a convoluted proximal segment in the cortex, and a distal straight segment descending into the medulla where it forms the U-shaped LOOP OF HENLE. D008830 Microbodies Electron-dense cytoplasmic particles bounded by a single membrane, such as PEROXISOMES; GLYOXYSOMES; and glycosomes. Glycosomes,Glycosome,Microbody
D010130 p-Aminohippuric Acid The glycine amide of 4-aminobenzoic acid. Its sodium salt is used as a diagnostic aid to measure effective renal plasma flow (ERPF) and excretory capacity. 4-Aminohippuric Acid,para-Aminohippuric Acid,Aminohippurate Sodium,Aminohippuric Acid,Nephrotest,Sodium Para-Aminohippurate,p-Aminohippurate,4 Aminohippuric Acid,Para-Aminohippurate, Sodium,Sodium Para Aminohippurate,Sodium, Aminohippurate,p Aminohippurate,p Aminohippuric Acid, para Aminohippuric Acid
D004721 Endoplasmic Reticulum A system of cisternae in the CYTOPLASM of many cells. In places the endoplasmic reticulum is continuous with the plasma membrane (CELL MEMBRANE) or outer membrane of the nuclear envelope. If the outer surfaces of the endoplasmic reticulum membranes are coated with ribosomes, the endoplasmic reticulum is said to be rough-surfaced (ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM, ROUGH); otherwise it is said to be smooth-surfaced (ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM, SMOOTH). D000618 Aminohippuric Acids A group of glycine amides of aminobenzoic acids. Acids, Aminohippuric
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. D012270 Ribosomes Multicomponent ribonucleoprotein structures found in the CYTOPLASM of all cells, and in MITOCHONDRIA, and PLASTIDS. They function in PROTEIN BIOSYNTHESIS via GENETIC TRANSLATION. Ribosome
