Separation of the tumor-associated transplantation antigen (TATA) from the alien H-2k antigens expressed on a methylcholanthrene-induced tumor. 1980

M J Rogers, and L W Law, and M A Pierotti, and G Parmiani

The tumnor-associated transplantation antigen (TATA), alien H-2k antigens and normal H-2d antigens expressed on a methylcholanthrene-induced tumor were monitored during gel filtration and lectin affinity chromatography of detergent-solubilized tumor-cell membranes. TATA was resolved from both the normal and alien H-2 antigens by these techniques. The relationship between histocompatibility antigens and TATA is discussed.

D002846 Chromatography, Affinity A chromatographic technique that utilizes the ability of biological molecules, often ANTIBODIES, to bind to certain ligands specifically and reversibly. It is used in protein biochemistry. D006183 H-2 Antigens The major group of transplantation antigens in the mouse. H2 Antigens,Antigens, H-2,Antigens, H2,H 2 Antigens
D006649 Histocompatibility Antigens A group of antigens that includes both the major and minor histocompatibility antigens. The former are genetically determined by the major histocompatibility complex. They determine tissue type for transplantation and cause allograft rejections. The latter are systems of allelic alloantigens that can cause weak transplant rejection. D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
