[Effects of an original protective solution for acute ulcers on a chronic gastric ulcer lesion. Experimental study (author's transl)]. 1980

A Sibilly, and F Jung, and I Krivosic, and O Bertini

On 200 Wistar white rats the authors experiment the effects of an original solution administered by the mouth on the evolution of a chronic gastric ulcer experimentally induced. This solution tuning for the prevention or the treatment of the stress ulcer seems to aggravate the chronic ulcers in the way of formation but on the contrary accelerates in a way highly significant the cicatrization of constituted chronic ulcers. The local and general effects of different components of this solution produce these double actions and do not contraindicate its clinic utilisation.

D002908 Chronic Disease Diseases which have one or more of the following characteristics: they are permanent, leave residual disability, are caused by nonreversible pathological alteration, require special training of the patient for rehabilitation, or may be expected to require a long period of supervision, observation, or care (Dictionary of Health Services Management, 2d ed). For epidemiological studies chronic disease often includes HEART DISEASES; STROKE; CANCER; and diabetes (DIABETES MELLITUS, TYPE 2). D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. D000897 Anti-Ulcer Agents Various agents with different action mechanisms used to treat or ameliorate PEPTIC ULCER or irritation of the gastrointestinal tract. This has included ANTIBIOTICS to treat HELICOBACTER INFECTIONS; HISTAMINE H2 ANTAGONISTS to reduce GASTRIC ACID secretion; and ANTACIDS for symptomatic relief. D013276 Stomach Ulcer Ulceration of the GASTRIC MUCOSA due to contact with GASTRIC JUICE. It is often associated with HELICOBACTER PYLORI infection or consumption of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). D013312 Stress, Physiological The unfavorable effect of environmental factors (stressors) on the physiological functions of an organism. Prolonged unresolved physiological stress can affect HOMEOSTASIS of the organism, and may lead to damaging or pathological conditions.
