Sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium uptake in whole muscle homogenates. 1980

It is often desirable to determine calcium uptake by the sarcoplasmic reticulum in specific muscles. By employing the procedure described in this communication the investigator can determine sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium uptake rates using very small amounts of tissue. Ca2+ uptake values are reported for whole homogenates of heart, soleus and epitrochlearis muscles from adult rats.
