Experience with thermography to demarcate the different arterial areas of the kidney is reported. Thermography allows the performance of nephrotomies in an avascular plane with minimal bleeding and subsequent minimal renal parenchymal destruction. It is a safe and simple method which is preferred to the intraarterial injection of dyes which is done for the same purpose.
