Potential pitfalls in antibiotic prescribing. 1981

The ever-increasing number of antibiotics on the market, coupled with the uncanny ability of pathogens to develop resistance, makes choosing an agent for a given patient a complex task for even the most skilled clinician. A rational plan for making this choice, as well as a number of potential problems in prescribing the drugs, is discussed.
