Film reciprocity law failure in scintillation camera imaging. 1981

L W Grossman, and R J Van Tuinen, and J B Kruger, and K L Scholz

Sensitometric measurements of scintillation camera images show that substantial changes in film response occur with variations in imaging time or dot focus. Both the speed and the slope of the film characteristic curve are affected. The phenomenon responsible for the variation in response is referred to as "film reciprocity law failure" and is inherent in the image-forming process.

D010825 Physics The study of those aspects of energy and matter in terms of elementary principles and laws. (From McGraw-Hill Dictionary of Scientific and Technical Terms, 6th ed) Physic
D011877 Radionuclide Imaging The production of an image obtained by cameras that detect the radioactive emissions of an injected radionuclide as it has distributed differentially throughout tissues in the body. The image obtained from a moving detector is called a scan, while the image obtained from a stationary camera device is called a scintiphotograph.
