The fact that 20% of the abortion requests at Antoine-Béclère Maternity Hospital in 1978 came from women under 20 years of age makes it clear that teenagers are insufficiently informed and familiar with contraception and makes it obvious that a change is necessary. The different types of contraception and the conditions of choice and application are briefly described.
