The effect of hypokinesis on blood clotting in rabbits. 1978

In 53 male chinchilla rabbits the effect of 14-day strict immobilization on the blood clotting and myocardial function capacity was studied. Hypercoagulability and enhancement of thrombocytic functional activity were found. The blood platelets of the experimental animals formed larger aggregates than those of the control animals. These changes were accompanied by myocardial ischaemic lesions, proved by electrocardiography.
