Due to the severe shortage of organs for transplantation, newer surgical techniques have been designed to use all compatible organs that may have been discarded because of anatomical arterial variations. The techniques for miniaturization of the extended Carrel patch, Carrel patch capping of the aorta and S-aortoplasty are illustrated.
