"Just about the time you think you can make both ends meet, somebody moves the ends." As this aphorism implies, this is a time of anxiety and frustration, particularly for physicians who are caught up in the stresses and pressures of a changing healthcare system. Doublespeak from Washington and insurance companies adds to the confusion. But wait, says the author, there are strategies for coping, and he offers a number of suggestions to help ease physicians' lives in and out of the office.
