Veterinary folk remedies in Japan. 1994

The author reviews Japanese veterinary folk remedies through an examination of the literature. Animal husbandry and the development of veterinary medicine are considered briefly, and a number of early veterinary texts are described. Details are given of folk remedies--including herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion, and incantation--which were still in use twenty years ago.
