Nursing homes: past, present and future. 1994

L Nazarko

Nursing homes have come in for some negative press recently. In this article, nursing home matron Linda Nazarko traces their upsurge since the beginning of the Eighties, discusses their current levels of nursing education and medical provision, and outlines a possible rehabilitative and acute care role for the future. The nursing home, she claims, can act as a 'bridge' between hospital and community.
