BACKGROUND Fewer than 100 cases of leiomyoma of the fallopian tube have been described in the literature; most of them are asymptomatic. METHODS A woman presented with a tubal pregnancy which, at laparotomy, proved to be distal to a leiomyoma of the tube. CONCLUSIONS Tubal myomas may predispose to tubal implantation of a conceptus. To our knowledge, this is the first time a tubal leiomyoma and a tubal pregnancy have been reported in the English literature.

D011247 Pregnancy The status during which female mammals carry their developing young (EMBRYOS or FETUSES) in utero before birth, beginning from FERTILIZATION to BIRTH. Gestation,Pregnancies
D011252 Pregnancy Complications, Neoplastic The co-occurrence of pregnancy and NEOPLASMS. The neoplastic disease may precede or follow FERTILIZATION. D011274 Pregnancy, Tubal The most common (>96%) type of ectopic pregnancy in which the extrauterine EMBRYO IMPLANTATION occurs in the FALLOPIAN TUBE, usually in the ampullary region where FERTILIZATION takes place. Tubal Pregnancy,Pregnancies, Tubal,Tubal Pregnancies
D005185 Fallopian Tube Neoplasms Benign or malignant neoplasms of the FALLOPIAN TUBES. They are uncommon. If they develop, they may be located in the wall or within the lumen as a growth attached to the wall by a stalk. D005187 Fallopian Tubes A pair of highly specialized canals extending from the UTERUS to its corresponding OVARY. They provide the means for OVUM transport from the ovaries and they are the site of the ovum's final maturation and FERTILIZATION. The fallopian tube consists of an interstitium, an isthmus, an ampulla, an infundibulum, and fimbriae. Its wall consists of three layers: serous, muscular, and an internal mucosal layer lined with both ciliated and secretory cells.
