[Indications, technique and results of anterior vitrectomy (author's transl)]. 1977

M H Luntz

The indications for anterior vitrectomy are presented and the surgical technique is described. An analysis is made of the results of anterior vitrectomy in 93 eyes followed for 4 years and compared with the results of a previous study in which vitreous loss was treated more conservatively. The results of anterior vitrectomy are significantly better particularly in regard to prevention of complications in the anterior chamber and the final visual result.
