[Certain theoretical and methodological problems of phytoparasitology]. 1977

U R Riispere

At present stills is lacking the general theory capable to explain the essence of factors determining the nature of relationships between the parasitic organisms and higher plants. This is associated with the crisis of the dominant theoretical system which suggests that plants possess active protective reactions to definite species and races of parasites having developed in the process of the evolution. Heuristic analysis of various conceptions and hypotheses has shown that the general theory of parasite resistance of plants can be based only on the ecological conception of parasitism and V. P. Efroimson's theory of uncomplete medium.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007109 Immunity Nonsusceptibility to the invasive or pathogenic effects of foreign microorganisms or to the toxic effect of antigenic substances. Immune Process,Immune Response,Immune Processes,Immune Responses,Process, Immune,Response, Immune
D010271 Parasites Invertebrate organisms that live on or in another organism (the host), and benefit at the expense of the other. Traditionally excluded from definition of parasites are pathogenic BACTERIA; FUNGI; VIRUSES; and PLANTS; though they may live parasitically. Parasite
D010944 Plants Multicellular, eukaryotic life forms of kingdom Plantae. Plants acquired chloroplasts by direct endosymbiosis of CYANOBACTERIA. They are characterized by a mainly photosynthetic mode of nutrition; essentially unlimited growth at localized regions of cell divisions (MERISTEMS); cellulose within cells providing rigidity; the absence of organs of locomotion; absence of nervous and sensory systems; and an alternation of haploid and diploid generations. It is a non-taxonomical term most often referring to LAND PLANTS. In broad sense it includes RHODOPHYTA and GLAUCOPHYTA along with VIRIDIPLANTAE. Plant
D004463 Ecology The branch of science concerned with the interrelationship of organisms and their ENVIRONMENT, especially as manifested by natural cycles and rhythms, community development and structure, interactions between different kinds of organisms, geographic distributions, and population alterations. (Webster's, 3d ed) Bionomics,Ecologies
D000222 Adaptation, Physiological The non-genetic biological changes of an organism in response to challenges in its ENVIRONMENT. Adaptation, Physiologic,Adaptations, Physiologic,Adaptations, Physiological,Adaptive Plasticity,Phenotypic Plasticity,Physiological Adaptation,Physiologic Adaptation,Physiologic Adaptations,Physiological Adaptations,Plasticity, Adaptive,Plasticity, Phenotypic
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. Animal,Metazoa,Animalia
D018521 Plant Physiological Phenomena The physiological processes, properties, and states characteristic of plants. Plant Physiological Processes,Plant Physiology,Physiology, Plant,Plant Physiologic Phenomena,Plant Physiologic Phenomenon,Plant Physiological Phenomenon,Plant Physiological Process,Phenomena, Plant Physiologic,Phenomena, Plant Physiological,Phenomenon, Plant Physiologic,Phenomenon, Plant Physiological,Phenomenons, Plant Physiological,Physiologic Phenomena, Plant,Physiologic Phenomenon, Plant,Physiological Phenomena, Plant,Physiological Phenomenon, Plant,Physiological Phenomenons, Plant,Physiological Process, Plant,Physiological Processes, Plant,Plant Physiological Phenomenons,Process, Plant Physiological,Processes, Plant Physiological
