Zinc resorption from zinc-tape during wound healing. An experimental study in rats. 1977

G Hallmans

In the rat zinc is resorbed from excisional wounds treated with adhesive zinc-tape. High levels of zinc compared to those in gauze-treated controls were found in serum, granulation tissue and pancreas. An increase of serum copper was also found during the process of wound healing, but increase in serum copper was probably due to an elevation of ceruloplasmin in serum.

D010179 Pancreas A nodular organ in the ABDOMEN that contains a mixture of ENDOCRINE GLANDS and EXOCRINE GLANDS. The small endocrine portion consists of the ISLETS OF LANGERHANS secreting a number of hormones into the blood stream. The large exocrine portion (EXOCRINE PANCREAS) is a compound acinar gland that secretes several digestive enzymes into the pancreatic ductal system that empties into the DUODENUM.
D001842 Bone and Bones A specialized CONNECTIVE TISSUE that is the main constituent of the SKELETON. The principal cellular component of bone is comprised of OSTEOBLASTS; OSTEOCYTES; and OSTEOCLASTS, while FIBRILLAR COLLAGENS and hydroxyapatite crystals form the BONE MATRIX.
