[Legal definition of the accident concept in social accident insurance]. 1996

Klinik für Neurochirurgie, Universitt zu Köln.

For the first time, the "Gesetz zur Einordnung des Rechts der gesetzlichen Unfallversicherung in das Sozialgesetzbuch (Unfallversicherungs-Einordnungsgesetz UVEG)" from August 7, 1996, defines the term "accident" in the social accident insurance, as expressed since January 1, 1997, in 8 I Sozialgesetzbuch (SGB) VII. This legal definition widely corresponds to the definition in the private accident insurance as well as to the previous interpretation known from the literature and the jurisdiction.
