Concentric bodies in two species of he loculoascomycetes. 1977

D A Samuelson, and J Bezerra

Concentric bodies were found in vegetative and pycnidial cells of Podoxythium tricothecium and in ascostromal paraphyses of Rhytidhysterium rufulum, two representatives of the Loculoascomycetes. They averages 185 nm in diameter in P. trichothecium and 255 nm in R. rufulum and consisted of three zones.

D009940 Organoids An organization of cells into an organ-like structure. Organoids can be generated in culture, e.g., self-organized three-dimensional tissue structures derived from STEM CELLS (see MICROPHYSIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS). They are also found in certain NEOPLASMS. Organoid
D001203 Ascomycota A phylum of fungi which have cross-walls or septa in the mycelium. The perfect state is characterized by the formation of a saclike cell (ascus) containing ascospores.
