Children's knowledge of their internal anatomy. 1997

C Gaudion
Southampton General Hospital.

Children's knowledge of their internal anatomy was investigated in this study of 24 school children aged seven and eight. Data were collected, first using projected drawings, and subsequently using an anatomical rag doll with prompt questions. There was no significant difference between the knowledge of boys and girls but the prompted responses were significantly better than unprompted. The instrument could be used to aid assessment of children's knowledge in the clinical setting and for teaching.
