Release from proactive interference in short-term memory in mentally retarded persons. 1976

D B Reutener, and C Rubenstein

Results of this study indicated that the accumulation of and release from proactive interference in mentally retarded persons parallels that observed in nonretarded subjects. Release from proactive interference in mentally retarded subjects suggests that they can organize and discriminate between items in short-term memory.
