Falling: why and what to do about it. 1997

Some 5% of all hospitalizations are due to falls--an average length of stay varies between 8 and 15 days. Some studies report the number one reason for admission to a skilled nursing facility is falls. Who is at risk and what can be done? Assessing the risk factors and introducing a "prosthetic environment" can reduce mobility limitations.
