13C NMR CP MAS data for three glycosyl alpha-tocopherol derivatives are reported. The values of delta = delta(solution) - delta(solid state) provided information about rigid and conformationally flexible fragments of alpha-tocopherol molecule and the sugar moieties.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008362 Mannosides Glycosides formed by the reaction of the hydroxyl group on the anomeric carbon atom of mannose with an alcohol to form an acetal. They include both alpha- and beta-mannosides. Mannoside
D008968 Molecular Conformation The characteristic three-dimensional shape of a molecule. D011522 Protons Stable elementary particles having the smallest known positive charge, found in the nuclei of all elements. The proton mass is less than that of a neutron. A proton is the nucleus of the light hydrogen atom, i.e., the hydrogen ion. Hydrogen Ions,Hydrogen Ion,Ion, Hydrogen,Ions, Hydrogen,Proton
D002247 Carbon Isotopes Stable carbon atoms that have the same atomic number as the element carbon but differ in atomic weight. C-13 is a stable carbon isotope. Carbon Isotope,Isotope, Carbon,Isotopes, Carbon
D005960 Glucosides A GLYCOSIDE that is derived from GLUCOSE. Glucoside
D014810 Vitamin E A generic descriptor for all TOCOPHEROLS and TOCOTRIENOLS that exhibit ALPHA-TOCOPHEROL activity. By virtue of the phenolic hydrogen on the 2H-1-benzopyran-6-ol nucleus, these compounds exhibit varying degree of antioxidant activity, depending on the site and number of methyl groups and the type of ISOPRENOIDS.
D019906 Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Biomolecular NMR spectroscopy on small- to medium-size biological macromolecules. This is often used for structural investigation of proteins and nucleic acids, and often involves more than one isotope.
