[POLFIX osteosynthesis in treatment of femoral shaft fractures]. 1998

The paper presents properties of POLFIX fixator in ostheosynthesis of the femoral shaft fracture and results of treatment with its use. Thirty-six patients with 37 fractures (31 males, 5 females aged 16-72 years) has been operated on. Good result has been achieved in majority of cases (92%), mean fracture healing time was 18 weeks (12-36 weeks). POLFIX system proved to be useful and effective in treatment for femoral shaft fracture; it has many features of biological fixation.
