The role of radiotherapy in the treatment of advanced high-grade NHL is not defined. Most experiences come from retrospective analyses or prospective randomized studies not evaluating primarily the indication of radiotherapy. Longtime results of the German-Austrian Multicenter Study are lacking. Possibilities of the radiotherapy consists of the radiotherapy of prior involved or bulky or slow responding regions in the adjuvant situation. In high risk groups, prophylactic brain irradiation may be useful. In recurrent patients, radiotherapy offers many possibilities of local palliation.
