[The effect of dopamin on the microcirculation on the pancreas in hemorrhagic-shock (author's transl)]. 1976

A Ciesielski, and P Nagel, and K Lanser, and V Sill

The influence of Dopamine on microcirculation during hemorrhagic shock was investigated by means of the pancreas chamber technique (HEISIG, 1967). Parameter of microcirculation was the corpuscular flow velocity measured with the "flying spot" method. Simultaneously arterial and venous blood pressure, heart rate, blood gases and pH-status were registered. While a Dopamine-dosage of 5 mug/kg/min did not markedly effect perfusion of the pancreas, application of 10 as well as 20 mug/kg/min Dopamine caused a significant improvement of microcirculation. There was no difference between 10 and 20 mug/kg/min Dopamine. The increase of capillary perfusion can certainly not be explained by the small rise of blood pressure that was found under treatment with Dopamine. The results support the statement of the existence of Dopamine-specific receptors in pancreatic vessels. Compared to a group of animals treated with 5 mug/kg/min Dopamine and an untreated control group, survival rate of animals treated with 10 as well as 20 mug/kg/min Dopamine was significantly increased.

D008833 Microcirculation The circulation of the BLOOD through the MICROVASCULAR NETWORK. Microvascular Blood Flow,Microvascular Circulation,Blood Flow, Microvascular,Circulation, Microvascular,Flow, Microvascular Blood,Microvascular Blood Flows,Microvascular Circulations
D010179 Pancreas A nodular organ in the ABDOMEN that contains a mixture of ENDOCRINE GLANDS and EXOCRINE GLANDS. The small endocrine portion consists of the ISLETS OF LANGERHANS secreting a number of hormones into the blood stream. The large exocrine portion (EXOCRINE PANCREAS) is a compound acinar gland that secretes several digestive enzymes into the pancreatic ductal system that empties into the DUODENUM.
D011817 Rabbits A burrowing plant-eating mammal with hind limbs that are longer than its fore limbs. It belongs to the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, and in contrast to hares, possesses 22 instead of 24 pairs of chromosomes. D004298 Dopamine One of the catecholamine NEUROTRANSMITTERS in the brain. It is derived from TYROSINE and is the precursor to NOREPINEPHRINE and EPINEPHRINE. Dopamine is a major transmitter in the extrapyramidal system of the brain, and important in regulating movement. A family of receptors (RECEPTORS, DOPAMINE) mediate its action. D005260 Female Females
D006439 Hemodynamics The movement and the forces involved in the movement of the blood through the CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM. Hemodynamic
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. D012771 Shock, Hemorrhagic Acute hemorrhage or excessive fluid loss resulting in HYPOVOLEMIA. Hemorrhagic Shock
