Teaching nursing history: the Redwood experience. 1998

This paper traces the development of nursing history from the great names approach of the early 20th century to the new analytical directions represented by the work of Davies and Maggs. It discusses the relevance of the study of nursing history in the present climate. The author shares the experiences of incorporating nursing history into a pre-registration diploma programme and suggests ways of evaluating this course of study.
