The stabilization of the injured and infected region is the most important condition for the bone structuring and the healing of infection. The author recommends the use of external fixation clamps, by means of which it is possible to achieve stability during movement while avoiding implantation of the metal in the infected region and the epiphyseal zone. The indications for autogenous cancellous-bone and skin grafts are mentioned. The results of follow-up examinations make it clear that the treatment should be started as early as possible.
