[The nuclear DNA content and cellular mitotic regimen in the diagnosis of the radiation pathomorphosis of tumors]. 1991

V P Modiaev, and M N Zobnina, and M F Dikovich

Histological material from 26 patients with laryngeal carcinoma was studied after surgery, photon and remote neutron-photon irradiation. The number of telophases in dividing tumor cells after the mixed irradiation was 1.5-3 times lower as compared to the surgical treatment. This correlated with a significant decrease of the number of cells with high ploidy. It is suggested that the damage to cell cycle occurred after the spin formation, that the parameters studied are sensitive morphological criteria for the diagnosis and prognosis of the tumor cell fate.

D011300 Preoperative Care Care given during the period prior to undergoing surgery when psychological and physical preparations are made according to the special needs of the individual patient. This period spans the time between admission to the hospital to the time the surgery begins. D011827 Radiation Emission or propagation of acoustic waves (SOUND), ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY waves (such as LIGHT; RADIO WAVES; GAMMA RAYS; or X-RAYS), or a stream of subatomic particles (such as ELECTRONS; NEUTRONS; PROTONS; or ALPHA PARTICLES). Radiations
D011879 Radiotherapy Dosage The total amount of radiation absorbed by tissues as a result of radiotherapy. Dosage, Radiotherapy,Dosages, Radiotherapy,Radiotherapy Dosages
D002467 Cell Nucleus Within a eukaryotic cell, a membrane-limited body which contains chromosomes and one or more nucleoli (CELL NUCLEOLUS). The nuclear membrane consists of a double unit-type membrane which is perforated by a number of pores; the outermost membrane is continuous with the ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM. A cell may contain more than one nucleus. (From Singleton & Sainsbury, Dictionary of Microbiology and Molecular Biology, 2d ed) Cell Nuclei,Nuclei, Cell,Nucleus, Cell
D003131 Combined Modality Therapy The treatment of a disease or condition by several different means simultaneously or sequentially. Chemoimmunotherapy, RADIOIMMUNOTHERAPY, chemoradiotherapy, cryochemotherapy, and SALVAGE THERAPY are seen most frequently, but their combinations with each other and surgery are also used. D003592 Cytophotometry A method for the study of certain organic compounds within cells, in situ, by measuring the light intensities of the selectively stained areas of cytoplasm. The compounds studied and their locations in the cells are made to fluoresce and are observed under a microscope. Microfluorometry,Cytophotometries,Microfluorometries
D004273 DNA, Neoplasm DNA present in neoplastic tissue. Neoplasm DNA
D005214 Fast Neutrons Neutrons, the energy of which exceeds some arbitrary level, usually around one million electron volts. Fast Neutron,Neutron, Fast,Neutrons, Fast
