[Cellular apoptosis in the radiation pathomorphosis of tumors]. 1986

Results of histologic and electron microscopic study of rectum cancer before and after radiation therapy are presented. A peculiar form of cancer cell death--apoptosis--was observed in all the tumours. The differences between necrosis and apoptosis are indicated, feasible mechanisms of cell death are considered. The justification of a further investigation of apoptosis is given.
