A case history of a 66 year old woman with an aortic arch syndrome due to giant cell arteritis is described. On the base of this diagnosis, a short review of literature, concerning symptomatology of giant cell arteritis is given, with special emphasis on the angiographic appearance. Special attention is given to the fact that a negative biopsy of the temporal artery does not exclude the diagnosis of giant cell arteritis.
