Injection of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LRH) induced ovulation in the pregnant rat on days 4 through 22. Only rats autopsied on days 2 and 3 failed to ovulate. Reduced responsiveness occurred between days 12 and 19; the least sensitive day was 16. Based on the number of ova recovered, day 21 was the most sensitive to LRH stimulation.
