[Experiences with the Lord cement-free total endoprosthesis]. 1985

On 30 patients with non-cemented total hip prostheses by Lord, 99mTc-MDP bone scans, clinical examinations, and plain film radiographs were performed 3, 6 and 12 months postoperatively. 20 patients with clinical and radiographical uncomplicated postoperative courses revealed a more or less parallel decrease of the calculated scintigraphic activity rations over the 12 months postoperative control period. Postoperative bone scanning is a sensitive and usefull diagnostic procedure for detecting complications.
