Small intestinal and hepatic amylase activity of different vertebrates and invertebrates. 1978

M M Palit, and A K Sharma

Studies have been done on amylase activity of the small intestine and liver of toad, calotes, pigeon rat, guinea pig and pilaglobosa. It has been found that amylase activity was maximum in pigeon, rat, guinea pig and then in calotes and pilaglobosa and least activity was found in toad, and seem to be related to the phylogeny and the dietary habbit.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries

D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. D001001 Anura An order of the class Amphibia, which includes several families of frogs and toads.
