[Effect of fentanyl on the contractile capacity of the aerobically perfused isolated rat heart]. 1994

V S Chernikov

Addition of fentanyl (1.84.10(-7) M) to a circulating solution was shown to unchange the baseline functional potentialities of the myocardium. However, at min 60 of the experiments, these hearts were different from the control ones in the values of aortic blood flow, cardiac output and left ventricular dP/dt. Their functional stability was accounted for by the preserved myocardial capacity to relax and hence to heterometrically autoregulate.

D010477 Perfusion Treatment process involving the injection of fluid into an organ or tissue. Perfusions
D005283 Fentanyl A potent narcotic analgesic, abuse of which leads to habituation or addiction. It is primarily a mu-opioid agonist. Fentanyl is also used as an adjunct to general anesthetics, and as an anesthetic for induction and maintenance. D000332 Aerobiosis Life or metabolic reactions occurring in an environment containing oxygen. Aerobioses
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
