[Effect of gravitational stresses on morphologic changes in the lymphatic bed of the guinea pig cecum during blockade of M-cholinoreactive systems]. 1976

O I Kuklina, and E I Malygina

The work has been performed in the material taken from 40 quinea pigs whose lymphatic bed was injected by Gerota's mass. The material was treated by macro-microscopical methods and the method of luxmetry. A single exposure to gravitation stress of ventro-dorsal direction caused probounced morphological changes in all links of the lymphatic bed of the guinea pig's coecum. Exclusion of the central and peripheral M-cholinoreactive systems of the organism by means of scopolamin in doze 50 mkg/kg had a protecting effect on the coecum lymphatic bed in the following exposure to gravitation stress.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D008208 Lymphatic System A system of organs and tissues that process and transport immune cells and LYMPH. Lymphatic Systems
D010115 Oxyphenonium A quaternary ammonium anticholinergic agent with peripheral side effects similar to those of ATROPINE. It is used as an adjunct in the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcer, and to relieve visceral spasms. The drug has also been used in the form of eye drops for mydriatic effect. Oxyphenonium Bromide,Oxyphenonium Chloride,Oxyphenonium Iodide,2-((Cyclohexylhydroxyphenylacetyl)oxy)-N,N-diethyl-N-methylethanaminium,Atrenyl,Metacin,Methacin,Oxyphenon,Oxyphenonium Bromide, (+)-Isomer,Oxyphenonium Bromide, (+-)-Isomer,Oxyphenonium Bromide, (-)-Isomer,Oxyphenonium Iodide, (R)-Isomer,Oxyphenonium Iodide, (S)-Isomer,Oxyphenonium, (+-)-Isomer,Oxyphenonium, (R)-Isomer,Oxyphenonium, (S)-Isomer,Spastrex,Bromide, Oxyphenonium,Chloride, Oxyphenonium,Iodide, Oxyphenonium
D010275 Parasympathetic Nervous System The craniosacral division of the autonomic nervous system. The cell bodies of the parasympathetic preganglionic fibers are in brain stem nuclei and in the sacral spinal cord. They synapse in cranial autonomic ganglia or in terminal ganglia near target organs. The parasympathetic nervous system generally acts to conserve resources and restore homeostasis, often with effects reciprocal to the sympathetic nervous system. D002432 Cecum The blind sac or outpouching area of the LARGE INTESTINE that is below the entrance of the SMALL INTESTINE. It has a worm-like extension, the vermiform APPENDIX. Cecums
D006112 Gravitation Acceleration produced by the mutual attraction of two masses, and of magnitude inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the two centers of mass. It is also the force imparted by the earth, moon, or a planet to an object near its surface. (From NASA Thesaurus, 1988) G Force,Gravistimulation,Gravity,Force, G,G Forces,Gravities
D006168 Guinea Pigs A common name used for the genus Cavia. The most common species is Cavia porcellus which is the domesticated guinea pig used for pets and biomedical research. Cavia,Cavia porcellus,Guinea Pig,Pig, Guinea,Pigs, Guinea
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA. Animal,Metazoa,Animalia
D001535 Benactyzine A centrally acting muscarinic antagonist. Benactyzine has been used in the treatment of depression and is used in research to investigate the role of cholinergic systems on behavior. Amizil,Amizyl,Lucidil
D012601 Scopolamine An alkaloid from SOLANACEAE, especially DATURA and SCOPOLIA. Scopolamine and its quaternary derivatives act as antimuscarinics like ATROPINE, but may have more central nervous system effects. Its many uses include an anesthetic premedication, the treatment of URINARY INCONTINENCE and MOTION SICKNESS, an antispasmodic, and a mydriatic and cycloplegic.
