[Inhibition of passive cutaneous anaphylaxis by dipeptides]. 1977

A D Ado, and T A Alekseeva, and F F Lukmanova

The action of some dipeptides (Lalpha-alanyl-histidine, Lbeta-alanyl-histidine, histidyl-leicine and glycyl-histidine), and histidine on passive cutaneous anaphylaxis of guinea pigs was studied. Lbeta-alanyl-histidine (karnosine) and Lalpha-alanyl-histidine proved to inhibit the passive cutaneous anaphylaxis. Histidyl-leicine, glycyl-histidine, and histidine failed to produce any inhibitory effect on passive cutaneous anaphylaxis.

UI MeSH Term Description Entries
D007073 Immunoglobulin E An immunoglobulin associated with MAST CELLS. Overexpression has been associated with allergic hypersensitivity (HYPERSENSITIVITY, IMMEDIATE). IgE
D007074 Immunoglobulin G The major immunoglobulin isotype class in normal human serum. There are several isotype subclasses of IgG, for example, IgG1, IgG2A, and IgG2B. D010323 Passive Cutaneous Anaphylaxis An evanescent cutaneous reaction occurring when antibody is injected into a local area on the skin and antigen is subsequently injected intravenously along with a dye. The dye makes the rapidly occurring capillary dilatation and increased vascular permeability readily visible by leakage into the reaction site. PCA is a sensitive reaction for detecting very small quantities of antibodies and is also a method for studying the mechanisms of immediate hypersensitivity. D002336 Carnosine A naturally occurring dipeptide neuropeptide found in muscles. Carnosine Hydrochloride,Carnosine, (D-His)-Isomer,L-Carnosine,beta-Alanylhistidine,Hydrochloride, Carnosine,L Carnosine, beta Alanylhistidine
D003864 Depression, Chemical The decrease in a measurable parameter of a PHYSIOLOGICAL PROCESS, including cellular, microbial, and plant; immunological, cardiovascular, respiratory, reproductive, urinary, digestive, neural, musculoskeletal, ocular, and skin physiological processes; or METABOLIC PROCESS, including enzymatic and other pharmacological processes, by a drug or other chemical. D004151 Dipeptides Peptides composed of two amino acid units. Dipeptide
D006168 Guinea Pigs A common name used for the genus Cavia. The most common species is Cavia porcellus which is the domesticated guinea pig used for pets and biomedical research. Cavia,Cavia porcellus,Guinea Pig,Pig, Guinea,Pigs, Guinea
D000485 Allergens Antigen-type substances that produce immediate hypersensitivity (HYPERSENSITIVITY, IMMEDIATE). Allergen
D000818 Animals Unicellular or multicellular, heterotrophic organisms, that have sensation and the power of voluntary movement. Under the older five kingdom paradigm, Animalia was one of the kingdoms. Under the modern three domain model, Animalia represents one of the many groups in the domain EUKARYOTA.
