Isolation of an atypical Pasteurella-like organism from guinea pig abscesses. 1976

D D Stewart, and R M Letscher

Four of a group of 33 (12%) guinea pigs were found to have subdermal abscesses. Bacteriologic culture produced an aerogenic Pasteurella-like organism. There is some indication that the Gram-negative rod may be a yet unclassified pathogen with a predilection for guinea pigs.
